2017 1st Annual Kern Valley Fly-In

I had spent months practicing my short field and soft field techiques, and was ready to take the Skylane to the dirt. Conveniently, Kern Valley (L05) hosted a wonderful backcountry adventure where people came from all over the west to participate, and I got my chance. The group split several ways throughout the day, but I got to land Cinder Cone, Lone Pine, Panamint Springs, Ballarat and then back to Kern for the night

It was a great time, I learned a lot, most importantly how capable the Skylane was and how much work I had ahead of me to become truly proficient flying it.
